Validation is an important aspect of recovery. Typically disconnected from themselves, both victims and abusers in crisis become flooded with chaotic thoughts and feelings they cannot make sense of. Validation helps the individual begin to correctly interpret and trust what is inside - and find a direction - whether or not they like what is being said.
