The woman who has lived accross the street from me and over 1 house has been there forever and has recently passed away. Her house was sold to a young couple who are engaged. They seemed to be an adorable couple with lots of friends and she is so sweet you just want to protect her anyway. Last Sunday (before halloween) I was decrating the front of the house when I was startled by a loud deep voice shrieking in such an over te top way that you could not undrstand what he was saying. It was coming from their garage and the young lady was sobbing and ran to the side door of the house and he threw what sounded like a can of nails and it hit the side of he house about a foot away from her. If I called the police they would have done nothing and the couple would have bad feelings towards me. I wanted to go over there and tell her to run away ...run NOW! The heck with the house. Common sense tells you this wasn't the first time and won't be the last.
She seemed to have everything going for her. It just goes to show you it can happen to anyone!

The thought I had was to take some literature to her that describes what this treatment is and that things just get worse. This is something you can do face-to-face or anonymously. Knowing there is somebody near by for support may give her courage. It's a hard call on how to handle these things, I know. BTDT. But, it is just a thought I had ... only you know how feasible it is.

Hopefully there may be a time you will see her by herself and can just tell her you are there if she needs you. Although that probably opens a whole new can of worms! Would she be upset? Would she be defensive? Would she be releaved? My heart breaks for her also. I hope as well she sees it all clearly before it's too late. The further in you are, the harder it seems to break from.
